Christmas Treats Review

Here's our first annual review of these Christmas Treats.
(click here for last year's comprehensive list of treats we received.)

*Box of chocolates* Grade: C. More caramel filling please.

*Chips & Salsa* Grade: B. Unique but community salsa in the office is slightly disturbing.

*Frosted Sugar Cookies* Grade: D. Store-bought.

*Chocolate & Plain Pecans* Grade in 2008: A. Grade in 2010: F. Everything in moderation.

*Hershey's Chocolate* Grade: C. First one was good. The other 300 are unappetizing at best.

*Corner Bakery Treats* Grade: A. Best quality of treat and the presentation was nice, however we were too sick from the other mediocre treats to enjoy these.

emily: I have something for you!

emily: a Christmas card!!
marni: ooooohh!! a Christmas card?!

and THIS is what she pulls out:

marni: emily, you just drew a tree on a post-it note
emily: yes, but it has GLITTER!

Cristobal - The Whistler

Cristobal comes in this morning whistling "It's a Small World After All."

We soon learn why...

Cristobal: SO weird!
Diego: What??
Cristobal: I just ran into my old boss from like 10 years ago!
Diego: From here in Dallas?
Cristobal: Yeah! He started a business and sold it. He's doing really well for himself. I can't believe I ran into him!

He then walks away, continuing to whistle "It's a Small World After All."

It IS a small world, Cristobal, it really is.

Second Life

In this episode of the Office, Dwight Schrute plays a game called "Second Life." It's his escape from the office as he dives into the life of a character that he wishes he could be.

Marni and I also have a Second Life at the Office. We call it "Etsy Moms."

In our second life, we are moms that stay at home with our children, and create beautiful crafts that we sell on Etsy. The way we immerse ourself in this life is by finding blogs about sewing, crafting, cooking, and more....basically, living vicariously through the real Etsy moms :)

Here are some of our favorites:
  • Cakies Blog Really adorable kids, fun recipes, clothes, and crafts! Like these pillows!!

  • Young House Love DIY home decor + really cute couple (now with a baby!) = YHL. Young House Love, y'all are just presh. We initially came across this blog when we saw some of the Petersik's awesome DIY wedding pictures! They put in a lot of effort to make the day special and unique - using so many cool techniques that were fun and inexpensive! Here are some pics:

  • Linkel Designs Cool vintage jewelry. This one is Marni's absolute favorite.
Are these not the most precious little earrings you've ever seen??

So that's our Second Life. We hope to one day call it our First Life. I guess that would just be Life, wouldn't it? But for now....you can find us here, at the office.

Getting ready for the holidays...!

Since the last post really got us in the spirit of the holidays (heh), we thought we'd follow up with some equally as festive - holiday cards!!!

So, even though Cristobal thinks the holidays are BEYOND commercialized, we think he'd be in support of this post. And we have PROOF. Last year, after we all came back from the holidays, around January 2nd or so, he went around the office passing out holiday cards featuring pictures of his adorable daughters! We were stunned to receive such a traditional holiday gesture from such an anti-holiday guy, but when questioned about it, I think he just said something like:

"Holiday card? No, no...this is just an annual family update"

Yeah right, Cristobal. You're a softy, and we all know it!

So...back to the reason for this post. Holiday cards.

Bloogspoots is proud to announce that Shutterfly is our go-to holiday greeting card location! They have a bazzillion designs for Christmas cards you all should check out.

Our personal fav?

How cute would it be to send this out with a big O for Office in the middle and all of our coworkers' beautiful smiling faces???

OR, what about something that will last the whole year through? Like a calendar...!

We're pretty sure this is just what the corner offices of Cristobal and Tomás really need! And so cute that you can add pictures to specific days for birthdays, anniversaries, company parties, and the like!

Ok, Emily and Marni are ready for their close up...! Are you??

*In all reality, we probably won't do an office holiday card or calendar - although it would be hilarious! But Marni and her hubby are planning on sending out the adorable holiday card featured above :)
